YOUR COACHES

Are you tired of putting in the efforts

and not seeing results?

Or do you find you know what to do but just aren’t doing it?

Do you feel overloaded with information and not sure which direction is right for you?

WE’RE NOT JUST NUTRITION

AND FITNESS COACHES…

There is so much more to your goals than just calories and workouts and what YOU need is different than what someone else might need (you’ve likely found this out by now which is why you are here).

You don't need another plan that takes up too much of your time or just doesn't work. Instead, we’ll take into account your busy lifestyle, health history, current knowledge and goals to help you know what to prioritize so you can spend less time worrying about your health and weight loss and more time getting results.

This is what truly makes our coaching style unique.

We take personalization to the next level.

Every VRHC coach has the knowledge and experience to support you in areas that are left unturned by generic programs and many other coaching programs.

As coaches and humans ourselves, we’ve seen (and experienced) the damage that mis-information can do to one’s mind and body.

And we see the frustration, the defeat, the pain that so many of you are going through in pursuit of your goals and we are on a mission to change that.

  • We coach women (and men) to create strong bodies via building a strong mind. There’s a difference between getting results and sustaining them. If you desire true transformation, you must start within by building a better mindset because how you think determines what you will do. To create consistency and adherence it’s important to cultivate a mindset of growth; in order to do so, understanding your WHY, your triggers, your challenges, your values, your beliefs and defining your goals clearly must be first.

As coaches we help you cultivate new habits, build self-integrity (saying you’ll do something and following through), and create consistency in your behaviors. It’s not about “willpower,” but about setting up the right foundation, in body and in mind, to create permanent results. We help you build a responsive body through optimizing your digestion, hormones, stress management, sleep, hunger, cravings, recovery and ultimately your metabolism. Combine a powerful mindset with a responsive body and you will reach your goals & sustain them. Because when your mind is strong, so is your body.

The journey of health is filled with battles against the self… battles which produce the characteristics we need to accomplish our goals and create our best self in all aspects of life, discipline, inner strength, taking initiative, perseverance, commitment, attitude, confidence and the ability to let go of yesterday’s mishaps and move forward with today.

It’s not about being perfect - it’s about growing and evolving. To change yourself, you have to change your mindset and sometimes it’s just about being better than you were yesterday… at eating healthy, at being kind, at listening, at having patience or just plain being you.Success is achieved when you seek out your weaknesses and turn them into strengths. Needing help isn’t a sign of weakness, but of strength. We are stronger together. Better thoughts = better decisions = better actions.

Our end all mission is to empower you through the process of physique changes, to build strong characteristics (like self belief) to take on the challenges faced outside of the kitchen and gym, in life, and to begin living consciously, doing the things necessary to create your best life.

With comprehensive weekly check-ins with your coach, open communication any time, and access to the client resource portal, you will ultimately build the foundations in behavior change, hormonal balance, food relationship and consistency that will ensure results last long after we’ve worked together.

We help you with the tough stuff like:

Improving your metabolism

Developing a better food relationship

Changing long ingrained patterns and behaviors

Improving bodily discomforts

Understanding roots causes to hormonal imbalances

Identifying the most appropriate plan of attack for YOU

I started lifting weights and learning about health and nutrition at the age of 12.

I love to challenge myself physically because it makes me feel stronger mentally.

I’m not a competitive person, unless it’s with myself.

Hey I’m Amanda

My passion for fitness and health developed at the age of 13. I started eating healthy & lifting weights and I didn’t think much about it, I just felt it. When I ate better & moved more, I felt better, I was less anxious, more in control, & stronger emotionally.

So I began educating myself through researching and reading everything and anything I could in nutrition and fitness. I began shadowing in the industry, gaining experience in a variety of areas throughout my summers and igniting more passion which lead to obtaining my BS in Kinesiology and Public Health at Indiana University in 2007 where I gained experience in nutrition, psychology, neurology, biomechanics, anatomy, sports specific programming, wellness education and chronic health issues, later expanding into side jobs and studies surrounding fitness competition preparation (bodybuilding), family health, special needs, stress management and rehabilitation.

I competed in my first bikini competition as a way to combat winter blues & face my fears of being the center of attention (I guess that’s one way to do it haha). And then continued to compete thereafter for a few years; competing was never about actually winning, but about instilling dedication, self belief & confidence.

I’m a body mechanics nerd at heart. I think the body is so cool. Did you know that how you position your body in exercises DRAMATICALLY affects the results you see? Yup. Big time.

I believe that everything in our life (mood, attitude, relationships, focus, energy) is affected by what we eat, how we move & what we consume (mind & body). And that’s my WHY behind creating a health coaching company that helps you master your mind to change your body. It is once you understand yourself ‘within’, that you can change yourself without (& sustain your results).

  • Honest and upfront, while equally compassionate and supportive. Janelle really knows how to meet you where you are while helping you make the decision to change. She enjoys educating you so that you fully understand why you are doing what you are doing. She’ll want to get to know you deeply and build a relationship so she can really understand your mind and lifestyle as she guides you in habit creation and behavior change. Janelle loves working with busy moms, as she is one herself! She thrives on empowering women to put themselves first and to see the better they feel, the more life unfolds with all they need and desire!

    3 words to describe Janelle:

    Adventurous, open minded, empathetic

    Impact:

Janelle provides her clients with the tools necessary to break the yo-yo diet cycle, to not fear food, and enjoy a healthy & balanced life.

    Fun facts:

I lived in Costa Rica for 2 years (Amanda and Janelle met in Costa Rica!)

My favorite trips are anywhere there is hiking and anywhere I haven’t been to yet.

I used to think I wasn’t creative until I was told you can be creative in the kitchen, now it’s my favorite way to express my creativity.

For 24 years of my life, I never ate red meat, now it’s a staple in my diet.

I’m a mom of 2 and have a passion for teaching other mom’s how to healthfully support their children and growing family!

Hey I’m Janelle

I was born with a passion for health but I really became more aware of it around the age of 10... maybe even younger. I remember my parents setting up obstacle courses for my brother and I to “play” (little did we know the agility and cardiovascular work we were putting in).

Over the course of my 29 years of life, the most valuable skillset I have learned has been my ability to remain grounded (and balanced) through the waves of life. Doing the things I need daily to feel my best allows me to take on the daily stressors of life with more ease and not feel as burdened by the unexpected ones.

When I became a mom, my world changed drastically, and life became much more challenging, however, I believe that we always have a choice. We can either let life's difficulties knock us down, or come to battle equipped with the tools, knowledge, and skillsets to stand strong. I choose the latter.

I am more empowered than ever to support others in building strong foundations and strategies to support themselves in feeling good and building a responsive body.

She enjoys working with those who are tired of what is and who are ready to learn how to make results stay long term. She is sincere and direct just as much as she is empathetic & patient. She helps you dissect the causes of what’s keeping you stuck, often those related to your thoughts, your beliefs and the stories you are telling yourself.

    3 words to describe Katlin:

    Attentive, ambitious, lighthearted

    Impact:

Katlin provides clients with the knowledge needed to better understand their bodies and their minds so they can not only reach their health goals, but build characteristics to excel in their life goals too.

I started lifting heavy at age 14 for Track. I was amazed at my strength, how I was able to shape my body, and how empowering being a strong female can be. I’m most happy I started at a young age so I didn’t fall into the myth of how lifting heavy makes women bulky - so not true ladies!

Hey I’m Katlin

I learned about health and fitness at a young age. I remember doing exercise videos with my mom in our living room (Richard Simmons anyone?!). My mom would always talk about choosing healthier food options while we shopped and we mainly ate home cooked meals.

As I got older, I struggled with intense depression and anxiety. Initially, I found some relief in fitness activities like running and lifting, but it never fully relieved me. Winters in Iowa were still always a struggle for me.

Moving through my years, my love for lifting grew because of high school Track. I gained lean mass and strength which I needed to be competitive at the state level. It was this success that helped me recognize the strength I hold within myself both physically and mentally, regardless of my other struggles. The physical challenge of lifting made me feel empowered (it still does to this day); I've competed in bodybuilding and powerlifting competitions since.

It wasn’t until after graduating from college in 2013 that I understood just how much food & lifestyle were directly tied into my mental wellbeing (and overall health) and that food could literally be used as medicine. The medical doctors had continued to fail me in finding answers related to my intense depression and anxiety, so I became my own advocate in searching for the 'why'. I began researching and learning as much as I could about the factors that could affect my mental health. From gut, to hormones, I was seeing just how interlinked the body is and couldn't understand how no one had helped me see this sooner. And well, that's what led me here. Full of ambition to change the way you think about the struggles you encounter while helping you learn how to advocate for yourself, to find the root causes of your discomforts and take actionable steps to alleviate them so you too, can achieve your goals!

While it’s not always an easy path, I can vouch that it is much easier having someone on your team to help with the step by step, let's do this (together)!

Hey I’m Sarah

After being diagnosed with an eating disorder when I was 16 years old, I recognized just how influential our environment is on what we feel and how we choose to behave. As I healed, I wanted to learn about how to build my body into the shape I desired vs break it down. I started focusing on strong vs skinny and spent time growing my mental strength with a new strategy to health. This is when I found myself getting into fitness competitions to challenge this mental strength, but shortly after competing, I found myself facing some pretty intense health challenges, PCOS, SIBO, leaky gut and chronic fatigue (to name a few). Which also ended up leading to struggles surrounding body image given my previous fitness background (Side note, I truly believe this has led me to create such rooted connections with my clients, I get those discomforts ya’ll)! It’s here where I took it step by step to advocate for myself in finding the best route to heal. While the path wouldn’t be my first to choose, it certainly led me to desire to grow my knowledge at a deeper level which has allowed me to help others at a much deeper level in return.

This was a pivotal moment in my life as it not only proved to me the power of the mind but launched my desire to help others feel supported in their own feats, to build the body they desire with a health-first mentality. The journey sure isn’t linear, which is why having an ongoing source of support (like me as your coach!) can be really helpful as you learn how to navigate the peaks and valleys of your health and shape change journey. I’m excited to help you integrate the most enjoyable parts of your life with the health and shape goals you have, it’s possible!

In my time coaching others, I have found that the most impactful changes happen when you focus on YOUR personalized method (aka 1:1 coaching vs group). Many are making their health goals much harder than they need to be. I love making health goals feel achievable for my clients. It’s so important to feel incremental boosts of success to in turn support your continued dedication over the long haul.
